<p style="text-align: center"><strong>Entertainment Book </strong><strong>Sale</strong> </p>
<p>The annual entertainment Book <strong><span style="color: #0000ff">sale starts on August 27th and continues through September 10th, 2010</span></strong>. Entertainment Books will cost <span style="text-decoration: underline">$25.00</span>  this year.  Enjoy up to 50% savings on family fun, dining out, travel, shopping and more! We will be adding a special Incentive to students that sell at least<span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong> five books</strong></span>. This year your student will keep <span style="text-decoration: underline">$6.25</span>  from each book sold for their Washington D.C. account. This fundraiser is a large part of the Shanahan PTO budget. Look for your student to bring home a demo book, parent information and an order form Friday,  August 27th, 2010. <span style="text-decoration: underline"> Reminder</span> &#8211; The demo book is not a freebie-just a way for students to show customers the great deals that the book contains. <p>Students have the opportunity through fundraisers to earn money towards their 8<sup>th</sup> Grade trip to Washington D.C. (All information is subject to change each year):</p>
<p><strong> Here are some of the ways you could earn money for the trip:</strong></p>
<p>*  <strong>Entertainment Coupon Book sales </strong>– the student earns $5.00 per book sold. This fundraiser is run by the PTO and occurs in the fall of each school year.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>*  <strong>Magazine Sales –</strong> the student earns 36% of the total magazines he/she sells. This fundraiser is run by the school with parent volunteer assistance and also occurs in the fall of each school year.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>*  <strong>SCRIP Programs – </strong>SCRIP (another word for PTO’s gift card program) is purchased through the PTO throughout the year. The cut-off for earning SCRIP for the Washington D.C. trip is at the end of the student’s first semester (2<sup>nd</sup> grading period) of his/her 8<sup>th</sup> grade year. Here’s a detailed description of all three programs:</p>

<ul>
<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">SCRIP:</span></strong>  This gift card program is an ongoing project to raise money for our school.  Two percent of your total order will also be applied to your child’s Washington DC trip.  The PTO purchases gift cards at a discount from participating merchants and sells them to you at face value.  Our profit comes directly from the merchant, not you!  The gift cards are just like cash and should be treated and protected as such.  Order forms are available in the school office or online.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">KROGER:</span></strong>  May 1<sup>st</sup>, 2009 Kroger has implemented the new Kroger Community Rewards program. Using your Kroger Plus card, credit will be given to OSMS on the amount of spending done by our families in comparison with other organizations.  Just sign up at krogercommunity rewards.com and select organization #80365 (OSMSPTO).  </li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">MEIJER ONE REWARDS:</span></strong>  Use your Meijer One credit card for all Meijer purchases and receive .025 percent towards your child’s Washington DC trip.  Sign up at Meijer.com and select organization #676234 (OSMSPTO).</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Records are kept for each student by the Washington D.C. Trip Advisors. The money is held in a class account by the Treasurer’s office.</li>
<li>No monies are to be “transferred” to or held for another student; this includes siblings. Any extra money earned stays with that class and is used to offset expenses of events in high school.</li>
<li>In the fall of the students’ 8<sup>th</sup> grade year, a deposit is required. All students who intend on participating must pay this deposit. In the event that the student has raised enough funds to cover the entire cost of the trip, a refund of extra monies from only the deposit will be made by the Treasurer’s office before the trip occurs.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Parents will be updated annually as to what their balance is in their Washington D.C. account.</li>
</ul>
